Sarrazin Store

This is how the Sarrazin Store looks today.  (09.08.00)

This early photo of the Sarrazin shows the original storefront.

Sarrazin Store

The Sarrazin Store can be seen between the Courthouse and the new water tower in this photo taken in 1893. The workers are installing a water system after a fire destroyed one entire side of the town square in 1892.  (circa 1893)

Sarrazin Store

Local Leroy Hruska posed for this photo on the square in Fayetteville. By chance the Sarrazin Store can be seen in the background. The sign tells us that it was an IGA Store when the photo was taken. Note that the front had been remodeled to add the cover and retail display windows that still exist today.

Fayetteville Heritage Museum

This coin purse (probably from the very early '60s) was spotted in the Fayetteville Heritage Museum. Note that the phone number was just "8." Residential telephone service wasn't widely available until 1961. The very few lucky residential telephone customers in this area had eight-party-line service until after 1970.
